Goalkeeper Dale Roberts committed suicide after his fiancee had an affair with Paul Terry, the less talented older brother of John Terry.
According to The Sun, that Dale, aged 24, was found dead when his cheating fiancee, Lindsey Cowan, returned to the apartment they shared and discovered that the door was locked from the inside.
The couple broke up but got back together and were engaged before his tragic death. Dale felt embarrassed and was taking anti-depressants.
Adam Johnson grew up with Dale and their folks were close friends.
"I'm absolutely devastated about Dale's passing. He was a really good friend.I grew up with Dale. We were in the same class at school and also played at Middlesborough together. His parents are friends with my parents and we often went on holiday together."
My hearts goes out to Dale's family. What a tragedy at such a young age.
